grinderI need some culinary advice: Can a food processor mimic the texture of cooked elbow macaroni run through the round-slotted plate?

I have a recipe from childhood that calls for ground macaroni. This is a picture of the device my mother used. I don’t have the plates & I wonder if it’s worth trolling the Internet for them.

I’ve never invested in a food processor or a stand mixer. Now that I’m putting old recipes together, I’m more aware of the kitchen tools people are using today. Just FYI, I prefer non-electric devices.

I Lived Through Surgery

My lower back fusion surgery was Feb.3 (Monday). I got out of the hospital @ noon on Thursday. In order to go home, I had to satisfy the Physical Therapy Nazis. I was in dizzying pain even with the meds but of course, I was determined to get home. With walker in hand, I had to walk to China, down a ramp, and into the PT room. I had to climb into a mock tub and sit on the shower chair. Then I had to get out. It might not seem like much but I assure you, it was. Then I had to walk up 4 steps and back down. THEN, I had to walk back to my room – from China!

Impending Surgery

Well, my lower back surgery is a week from today. I had to incomplete my current class. I completed all discussion boards, the team project, and 2/6 assignments. I just can’t sit up long enough to finish. The vertebrae are grinding on each other. I will be so relieved to lie on that operating table! I know I’m in for a long recovery but at least there will be spaces between the vertebrae.

Mother is taking the train out and will be here Friday until February 19. She just got back from the GC conference on Women’s Ordination. She spoke for the BookThursday morning devotional, which went very well. Her book is in the 1st 1/3 of the publishing process and we received the 1st 1/3 ($552) in donations! The book will be released in time for campmeeting.

I will try to keep you posted about both issues as I am able.

Manuscript @ Publishers

The publishing contract is signed and @ the publisher, TEACH Services, an Adventist publisher located near Chattanooga, TN. I also developed a new blog for the book, God’s Triumphant Love, Fall in Love with Jesus all over Again. The blog is to update readers about the book’s progress and for fundraising purposes. We have to pay for the publishing package of nearly $4000 and any advertising. We would like to work with the Adventist Review ($1000/issue) and other Jewish & Christian magazines & newsletters. If you would like to be a part of this opportunity, go to the ‘donate‘ page of the blog.

My parents were here for Thanksgiving. We had a great time! I hope you & your loved ones have a great Christmas & New Year!
